Feasibility study to standardise national legislation on gender violence and violence against children.
1 January 2010 - We signed a contract with the European Commission for a nine month study covering the 27 EU Member States.

Study on Equality Bodies.
7 December 2009 - The European Commission signed a contract with us to assess the level of compliance of national legislation and practice with the Directives in the field of setting up Equality Bodies.

Mapping anti-discrimination framework in Turkey and the Western Balkans.
29 October 2009 - The European Commission informed us that our proposal for a study, covering Turkey, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. was selected for an 18 month' contract.

Network of socio-economic experts in the anti-discrimination field
17 December 2008 -Human European Consultancy has been contracted by the European Commission to established a network of socio-economic experts in the field of anti-discrimination.

Academic Network of European Disability experts
19 December 2007 - The European Commission signed the contract foe a new network we will manage for the coming 4 years. The network will support the policy development by EU National governments and the European Commission.

Contracts European Fundamental Rights Agency signed
5 December 2007 - Our tender for the provision of reports and studies on legal issues concerning the promotion and protection of fundamental rights in the European Union was very successful. From the 24 countries for which we did submit a tender proposal we ended first ranking for 20 of them (plus one for the international level).

Selected for follow-up non-discrimination network
14 November 2007 - Following a new tender we have been selected for a new contract to manage the European Network of Legal Experts in the non-discrimination field, covering 4 more years.

Anti-discrimination and Diversity Training
3 November 2006 - The European Commission informed us we we have been selected for the award of a contract for a training project covering 31 European countries.

Evaluations EIDHR published
1 March 2006 - We have published two evaluations, carried out on the programme of the European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR): on 'Training on Civilian Aspects of Crisis Management'and on 'Programa Andino de derechos humanes y democracia'. See EIDHR publications.

25 Januari 2006 - Piet Leunis, director of human european consultancy, has started to publish a weblog at blog.humanconsultancy.com.

Mapping study on existing national legislative measures
8 December 2005 - human european consultancy, in partnership with the Migration Policy Group, has been selected by the European Commission to carry out a study on national measures to combat discrimination in fields where Community legislation has not been introduced. The study will also look at the application and impact of existing anti-discrimination legislation.

The study will cover the 25 EU member states, Romania, Bulgaria, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Training manual capacity building NGOs dealing with anti-discrimination
30 November 2005 - The project 'Capacity building NGOs dealing with anti-discrimination' has been finalised and a mapping of the situation of NGOs and the training manual developed in through this programme is available on our publications page.

Evaluation EIDHR Fight against racism, xenophobia and discrimination programme
9 October 2005 - In a consortium with DIHR and HOM human european consultancy has carried out an evaluation on projects, funded by the European Commission to fight against racism, xenophobia and discrimination. The report is available on our EIDHR publication page.

Studies on the implementation of Labour Law Directives
28 September 2005 - human european consultancy did sign a contract with the European Commission to carry out, in partnership with the Middlesex University Business School, studies assessing the situation as regards the incorporation of 6 specific labour law directives into the national law of the Member states.

First issue European Anti-discrimination Law Review
April 2005 - The European Network of Legal Experts in the Non-Discrimination Field, managed by human european consultancy in partnership with the Migration Policy Group did publish the first issue of a bi-annual law review to alert policy makers, legal practitioners and NGOs to developments in the different member states.

Evaluation assignment Council of Europe for Russian Federation
15 December 2004 - human european consultancy was selected by the Council of Europe to carry out an evaluation of three European Commission/Council of Europe Joint Programmes, which were implemented in the Russian Federation since 2001.

Capacity building civil society dealing with anti-discrimination
24 November 2004 - human european consultancy signed a contract with the European Commission for developing a training programme to support civil society in the new member states, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey in building capacity and improving NGOs knowledge on EU policies and civil societies role related to the anti-discrimination directives and its national implementation.

Change of name
1 October 2004 - MEDE European Consultancy changed its name to human european consultancy.

Three year project to support the NGO sector in Slovenia comes to an end
18 June - A project funded by the Social Transformation Programme Central and Eastern Europe (Matra) of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs was finalised in May 2004. With a government strategy for cooperation with non-governmental organisations the basis for a structures and institutionalised dialogue has been provided. The final report with recommendations to ensure sustainability can be downloaded from the publications page.

Establishment of European Network of Legal Experts in the non-discrimination field
17 May 2004 - The European Commission has selected MEDE European Consultancy in partnership with the Migration Policy Group to establish and manage a network of independent experts to provide the Commission with information and advice on the implementation and application of the article 13 anti-discrimination Directives in all 25 EU member states. From development of human rights to managing human rights development
12 January 2004 - The Secretary General of the UN reports on the Advisory Services and Technical Cooperation in the field of Human Rights to the Commission on Human Rights, referring to and making use of the recommendations from the reports from the Global Review.                                                          29 September 2003 - The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has published the synthesis report, produced by a partnership of the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM) and MEDE European Consultancy, on the 'Global review of the OHCHR Technical Cooperation Programme' on its website. Equality, diversity and enlargement
3 October 2003 - The European Commission has issued a press release 'Anti-discrimination rules must be in place before accession'. announcing the publication of a study coordinated by MEDE European Consultancy in partnership with the Migration Policy Group. The study looked at measures taken by the 13 candidate countries to combat discrimination on the grounds of racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief. disability, age and sexual orientation.
